The standard approach is a red herring because different people have different standard approaches. If “everybody knows” a solution, on average, 10000 people in the US learn about it per day. Creativity is irrelevant — using material at hand is definitely an element, but “intended use” raises the standard problem again, and “besides their intended use” is a groundless artificial restriction.
